The following is a short list of battles and actions that the 2nd Albany participated in during the American Revolutionary War. The best known battles that the 2nd Albany participated in were the First and Second Battles of Saratoga. Actual written accounts of these battles and actions are limited to mentions that the 2nd Albany was present.

• August 11 - Battle of Normanskill, Captain Shermerhorm commanding
• September 19 - Battle of Freeman's Farm (First Battle of Saratoga) - Colonel Wemple commanding under Brigadier General Glover in Gate's Division
• October 7 - Battle of Bemis Heights (Second Battle of Saratoga) - Colonel Wemple commanding under Brigadier General Glover in Lincoln's Division

• Late 1779 - 80 Men of the 2nd Albany are serving as Three Month Drafts in Continental service at Fort Paris

• July - Col. Wemple and Major Fonda in command at Fort Plank
• August 2 - Brant burns Canajorharie and Fort Plain area. Wemple's regiment is nearby, guarding bateau bound for Fort Stanwix. Wemple reports seeing smoke in a letter to Gen. Ten Broeck
• October 12 - Defense of Ballston - 200 men called out - Major Swits commanding
• October 19 - Battle of Klock's Field - Colonel Wemple commanding under Colonel Abraham Cuyler and General Van Rensselaer overall commander.

• October 25 - Battle of Johnstown
• October 30 - Death of Butler. Thomas Folger, private, Capt. Thomas Wasson's Company, 2nd Albany, reports seeing W. Butler killed in his pension papers. Another pension paper says Butler turned and said "Shoot and be damned", and so they did.
