Peter Martin, Esqr of Tryon County having been brought before this board for some misdemenors of his in said County:
On motion made, Resolved, that said Martin be ordred to stay in this Town twenty-four hours, till an Express be sent to the Committee of Tryon County to inform them of his being here, and to know what they will do farther with him.

This board being informed that Daniel Campbell, Esqr & Alexander Ellen intends going up to Niagara, and from thence to Montreal:-
Having taken said information into Consideration, Resolved, that a letter be wrot and sent by express to the Committee of Albany to know whether in their opinion it will be most proper to detain the said Campbell & Ellen, or let them go under sertain restrictions.

Received a letter from the Committee of Albany, in answer to the one sent from this board the 4th inst in which they decline to give any particular advice relative to Messrs Campbell & Ellen.
On motion made, Resolved, that Messrs Campbell & Ellen be sent for and examined relative to their Intentions of going up the Country.
Said Campbell & Ellen having been sent for and pressent, Declared upon their Honor that they were going up the Country on their own private bussinese, and that they would not carrey any letters or messages to or from any person who was inimical to the American Cause.
Alexander Ellen requested a permit from this board for himself and Mr. Campbell to go up the Country.
This board having taken the matter into Consideration, Resolved, that Messrs Campbell & Ellen be permited to go, and that a Certifycat be given them in the following words:
"We do hereby Certify that the bearers hereof, Daniel Campbell & Alexander Ellen hath been before us and acquainted us of their intention of going to Niagara, & from thence to Canada, on their privite bussinese: they have pledged their honor to us that they will not carrey any letters or messages of news to or from any person who is enemycal to the American Cause. By order of the Committee.

Received a letter from Christopher Yates, in which he resigns his seat in this board.
Having taken the Contents of said letter into Consideration, Resolved, that Christopher Yates’s resignation is axcepted of.
On motion made, Resolved, that Rinier Minderse is appointed Chairman of this Committee in the room of Christopher Yates.
On motion made, Resolved, that Hugh Mitchell and Abraham Oothout be a Sub-Committee from this board to attend at the general meeting of the Committee at Albany, the 10th Inst., and that Christopher Yates’s letter of resignation be laid before that board at said general meeting.

A plan for raising a company of Militia in this Town having been laid before this board by John Bradt, who also requested leave to put the same in Execution:
The board having taken said plan and request into Consideration, Resolved, that the same is approved of.
On motion made, Resolved, that Cornelious Cuyler is appointed to receive all the Donation wheet for the poor of Boston, and have the same graun bolted and packed, for which he is to be allowed all reasonable Charges.
On motion made, Resolved, that a letter be wrot to the Committee of Albany, acquainting them that, agreeable to their Resolve of the 10th Inst., that we have purchased all the bayonet to be got in this place, and delivered them, by Colonel Van Slike's orders, to Captain Van Dick for the use of his Compy which was don, as per Coppey on file.
In Consequence of a resolve of the Committee of Albany the 10th Inst., Resolved, that a letter be wrot to the Committee of Tryon County, and enclose to them a Coppey of the resolve made at Albany, requesting them not to suffer any known or suspected Enemys to the American Cause to pass further up the Mohak River than the German Flatts.

Received a letter from Turbat Frances, one of the Commissioners for Indian affairs, requesting that no rum or strong liquor be sould to the Indians as they pass thraug this Town to Albany, where they are to hold a Counsel.
Having taken the Contents of said letter into Consideration, Resolved, that the Crier be sent Round the Town to forbid the inhabitants to sell or give the Indians aney rum as they pass through this Town.

Received a letter from the Committee of Albany, requesting punctual attendance at the next general meeting, as their would be then business of importance to be transacted,
In consequence of said letter, Resolved, that Henry Glen, Jecobus Teller, & James Wilson, & John Rosebom be a Sub-Committee from this board to attend at the general meeting of the Committee at Albany the 24th inst.

This board having taken into Consideration the forming of the Milltia, of this Township into Companys, agreeable to a plan of the Honorable Continentals & provincials Congress,
Resolved, to meet this Evening, at 6 O'Clock, and send for all the former Captains of militia, and desire them to assemble all their respective Companys at the Dutch Church, on Saterday, the 2d Septr in order to be formed into Companys, agreeable to a resolve of Congress to be then red to them.
The Committee having again met, and the Captains of Militia having been sent for and pressent, was requested to assemble their Companys agreeable to this day's resolve, & unanimously promised to Comply therewith.
